The Legacy 166 Reading Program
Book donations and volunteer classroom reading for Pre-K through 3rd grade students.
The Legacy 166 Reading Program is a two-part program. The first part donates books to schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations in Southwest Alabama, with more than 10,000 books donated since the program was introduced. The second part recruits men and women in the community to go into Pre-K through 3rd grade classrooms, read to students, give free books and snacks to students and teachers, and lead occupation Q&A conversations that help children imagine career choices.
